Theme:

The Old Testament tells of God’s covenant with the Hebrew people. Today, we are committed to the same covenant with God through Jesus. Jesus brings us to the fulfillment of God’s plan of salvation. We are invited to follow Jesus, enriching our lives through our union with him in his Body which is the Church.

Objective:

To learn, from, and grow in, the light of God’s message as found in the stories of the Old Testament.

Prayers:

Should know all prayers learned in Pre-Kinder - 5th Grade plus these new prayers:

• Stations of the Cross

• The Canticle of Zechariah

Goals:

• God is the Creator of all things.

• God is revealed to us in the Holy Scriptures.

• Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament.

• Jesus tells us of the coming of the Kingdom of God.

• The authors of the Bible were inspired by the Holy Spirit.

• The Bible is the history of God’s chosen people as seen through the eyes of faith.

• A recurring theme in the Bible: good conquers all evil.
